Dr. Chase Van Mol has been an internal medicine physician in Florida for more than 10 years, treating hundreds of thousands of patients with a wide range of medical conditions. This variety has informed her holistic approach to health care where she meets each patient with curiosity and combines medicine and lifestyle solutions to address the root cause of each problem.
Dr. Van Mol comes from a family of clinicians and recalls going to work with her mother, who worked as a nurse in the ICU, on her days off from school. The trips to the hospital made an early impression on her, sparking her interest in medicine.
After earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from the University of Georgia, she received her Medical Degree from the Georgia College of Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Van Mol completed an internal medicine internship at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago and an internal medicine residency at Emory University Hospital.
Dr. Van Mol began her post-training career at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, where she was later named Assistant Medical Director. She helped build the hospital’s first internal medicine residency program, which is now the primary residency site for Florida Atlantic University’s Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine.
Before joining Atria, Dr. Van Mol served as Medical Director at Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach, where she further honed her diagnostic skills, and as a primary care and internal medicine physician at Holistic Integrative Health.
“I’ve seen so much, especially in the acute-care setting, that my radar is wide when it comes to less common issues in medicine. I am always thinking about using the latest techniques and technology for more complex cases,” Dr. Van Mol says.
Dr. Van Mol takes a whole-person approach to medicine, emphasizing the importance of nutrition and exercise in addition to medical interventions. “Instead of immediately giving somebody a medicine, I stop and think about what are the other things that I can do first to avoid the knee-jerk reaction of a prescription,” Dr. Van Mol says. “It’s so rewarding to be able to sit down and devote all of my attention to a patient. This is medicine the way it should be practiced, and hopefully, we'll be able to develop methods and processes so that this style of practice can be more widespread.”
Dr. Van Mol lives in South Florida with her three children and her husband, who is a cardiologist in Delray Beach.
